Centering Community in Oregon: The Essential Role and Growth of the Community Health Worker Workforce presents the findings of a 2024 statewide workforce assessment conducted by the Oregon Community Health Workers Association (ORCHWA) in partnership with the Community Health Worker Center for Research and Evaluation (CHW-CRE). Through statewide surveys, employer input, and listening sessions with Community Health Workers, the report examines the composition, roles, working conditions, and sustainability of Oregon's CHW workforce. Its findings and recommendations provide a roadmap for strengthening the profession, informing policy, and advancing equitable, community-centered systems of care.
