The Illinois Community Health Worker (CHW) Common Indicator (CI) and Training Experiences Survey Report highlights findings from a state-wide survey conducted in 2023-2024 to understand the background, training experiences, CHW competencies, and CHW CI workforce indicators for CHWs in Illinois.

The survey instrument included four of the CHW-CRE Common Workforce Indicators:

• CHW Level of Compensation, Benefits, and Promotion (CHW CI #1)

• CHW Involvement in Decision and Policy Making (CHW CI #4)

• CHW Integration into Teams (CHW CI #5)

• Supportive and Reflective CHW Supervision (CHW CI #12)

For its comprehensive incorporation of all the CI workforce indicators, this report sets a new standard for CHW surveys using the Common Indicators!
